Advance7 was established in 1989 as independent specialists in IT problems concerning poor performance and stability issues.

In 1990, Advance7 launched a problem diagnosis service called REACT® to help clients resolve problems. The REACT® service was based on troubleshooting techniques that were being used in the software industry, but translated to enable the investigation of end-to-end application and infrastructure issues. This was the origin of the RPR (Rapid Problem Resolution) method, which has since been used to diagnose a myriad of IT problems.

In 1995 Advance7 documented the first official version of RPR. Since that time it has been regularly refined and developed.

In 2008 we took the decision to make RPR publicly available and to help our clients build highly effective Problem Solving Groups to use that method. There are now hundreds of people worldwide trained in the use of RPR.

After listening to our customers and realizing they wanted a seamless service from us, in 2014 we decided to supply troubleshooting and performance management products. The products are carefully selected to ensure that they are aligned with our ethos of evidence-based advice and the use of Definitive Diagnostic Data.

Throughout our history, RPR and the concept of evidence-based advice has remained at the core of our business.
